Tax department person said everyone pays tax on inheritance even low income Others say no.
Can you direct me to some printable government info proving thats it is a no answer

More an accountant type situation but in very simple terms:
- There is no tax on 'inheritance' in Australia. However, there may be tax payable for another reason on things you can inherit.
