My lecturer posed this question for discussion and we thought we would consult the wisdom of this forum.

If I stole a package from a front porch, and the package leaked sump oil all over my passenger seat, then upon inspection, it is discovered that the package was designed to do that to me.

Is there a case for compensation for the damage done to my vehicle?

I am not a law student, the question was posed in an ethics class and I was interested in the legal take on this scenario.
Just a shame no one is interested in this forum.

Just a shame you didn't bother to provide your thoughts and reasoning as suggested by Rob. Students do not get given freebies.
