Iam seperating from my wife and have got the superannuation information kit and was wondering if we have to split hers and mine? Or can i just add the totals of both funds and work out how much i need to top up hers for us to have the same amount? Then i won't need to pay splitting fees on both accounts and fill out less paper work .

I believe you will only need to split yours so that you can top hers up. It comes under a Family Law Superannuation Split. Call your fund to ask details of how to go about it. Do you have Consent Orders?
