VIC Separation but No Divorce - Who Pays Funeral Expenses If Ex Dies?

I have been separated for over 5 years now and settlements of assets was done thorugh the courts but we have not got a divorce. If my ex dies, can I be forced to pay for the funeral expenses? Can they sell of my assets to fund it?

I think the cost is covered by the deceased person's estate. Can anyone else confirm?

I agree with AllForHer.
You can check section 39A of the Administration and Probate Act 1958 (Vic) which talks about payment of debts, including funeral expenses, of solvent estates.
Have this confirmed by a lawyer practising in probate and estate administration in Victoria.
