VIC Responding to a Form F53 - Employer represented by a lawyer

Hello, the ex employer has filed a form F53 - Notice that lawyer or paid agent acts for a person. The ex employer has a well staffed HR dept. with the Exec manager having a masters degree. Any advice on how to prevent the lawyer acting for them?
