Hi. My son received 2 separate fines both in qld totalling 6 demerit points in a 12 month period. The qld law for P2 drivers states if you accumulate more than 4 demerit points in any 12 month period you lose ur licence for 3 months or take good behaviour for 12 months with 1 point. This however is not the law for NSW P2 drivers and at the time of both offences he had a NSW P2 licence. Not long after the 2nd offence he changed to a full qld licence as he had completed his time on his P2 licence. He has now received a letter from the TMR in QLD stating because of these offences he has to take the 3 month ban or good behaviour. I understand that if he had a qld licence at the times of the offences that those are the rules but i would like to know if he has a case as the offences were comitted on a NSW licence. They were both minor offences with no court notices. One for speeding 13kms over and the other for entering a carpark through a no entry sign. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
