Hi everyone,

I've just started preparing for a financial court order to have the family home sold, as my ex has thwarted all efforts to sell it for the professionally valued price. My question is whether personal effects, such as books (not antique), gardening tools, electric tools, computers, cameras, etc., need to be valued for inclusion in the asset pool for division and property settlement? If so, what type of items would you reasonably expect to be excluded from this inventory?

Thanks,

Look, really it is big ticket items - cars, etc. Everything else is valued at garage sale value. Not worth arguing about the value of a shovel....
