Public estate agent advertised a role. I applied and was successful. I signed employment agreement that they provided and resigned from previous role. New employer withdrew offer and offered 4 weeks pay. I am now jobless and suffering stress due to pending mortgage payments as a sole earner.

What's the best approach?

First, see if your old job is still available. You might need to grovel.

If the above fails, go to RE Agent and say their offer is not sufficient. Tell them to employ you until you find alternative employment.

Their mistake should not be your loss.

If the two steps above fail, you have a cause of action against the real estate agent and you probably need to see a lawyer.
