I am aware that anyone eligible can apply for legal aid support in criminal matters in the Local or District Court of NSW. What about if you would like to appeal to the Court of Appeal or Supreme Court of NSW, can you still apply for legal aid? Their website only mentions Local Court, Magistrate and District Court assistance. They do not seem like the organization or people to turn down anyone who desperately needs the help (less so than those already remanded in custody, etc.).
Secondly, I have other matters that I am unsure legal aid would help, and they weren't very helpful over the phone, just saying that yes, I can submit multiple applications simultaneously. These other matters are mostly civil, such as breaches of contract of sending payments to others (stupidly my fault but even being contributorily negligent- am confident these 'businesses' owe me and have the proof but would like representation as I cannot defend this myself) and also after being kicked out of accomodation and told they will give me all my belongings, etc but still haven't and these amounted to hundreds if not thousands of dollars in appliances, food, etc and must commence legal action.
Thank you for your advice and opinions.
