VIC Leaving country after uninsured csr accident?

I am a backpacker and caused a car accident and don't have the money to pay the amount.
A week ago I received a letter of demand and now I wanted to know what happens if I just leave the country in a week? Will they trace me down to Germany or eill thr insurance company of the other driver just have no chance to regain that money?

If you "don't have money to pay the amount" then you shouldn't have been driving knowing the risk of causing an accident which may see you liable "for that amount". However, for what it's worth, if you don't have money then you wouldn't be required to pay it and nobody can stop you from leaving the Country if you don't pay it etc. If you have money in Germany then you should pay it and I'm not going to advise on the likelihood of the other party recovering the money from you in Germany.
