I am hoping that someone can answer a couple fo questions for me in regards to an incident today at Woolworths....

I did some grocery shopping and proceeded through the self-serve check out. I had a million things on my mind and just robotically did things....Scanning, paying...

Upon arrival at my car I checked my receipt and realised that some items I had placed in my bag and thought that I had scanned, had not been scanned. I went back into the supermarket (within 5-10 minutes of initial purchase) with unpaid items (about $18 in total) and paid for them. The employees thanked me and said nothing else. No ID or other information was taken. Although I guess they could 'track' the credit card that I paid with.

I have never, and I mean never (not even a speeding ticket) been dishonest. But this is playing heavily on my mind. Can there be any further action by Woolworths? If so, what?

Also, I am now wondering if there have been other occasions when I may have inadvertently not scanned and therefore not paid for grocery items. Can they follow this up? Ie, checking store footage and purchase history?

Thank you for your time.

Thanks, Rod.

Do you think that I should expect police at the door anytime soon? Yes, I am paranoid.
Nah.
If anything was going to come of it, it would have already

Thanks Tim for putting my mind at ease....a little.
I'm just going to avoid that store and stick with assisted check outs from now on.
