NSW Health and Safety Requirements in School?

One of my teachers told me to spray paint over the graffiti in one of the rooms as some form of discipline, however, I was not recommended or allowed safety equipment such as a respirator or even gloves, and the room was not even well ventilated. I am curious whether this is allowable or is unlawful on the school teacher's behalf.

No it was from a previous year group.
And I didn’t actually do anything wrong I just didn’t go on an excursion.
