I am the EPOA for my mother in care with dementia. I applied and received Financial hardship from Centrelink for her, which has reduced her aged care fees from her pension due to her external expenses, such as 50% of the house insurance etc.
upon her passing in the future, she has willed me the house, and my sisters ( who have no contact with me, and only little with mum) will receive her money - which is less than $50k total.
I am a disability pensioner, live in and am joint tenant on the house, and just found white ants in the home. Can I claim 50% of the expenses to inspect and treat the issue? What about repairs? I am not sure how much damage yet.
