I'm working on a part time basis and earning minimum wage. Do I still need to file taxes to the ATO under commercial law? Thanks!

    Hello there!

You may be able to claim a tax-free threshold.

"If your total income for the year is in the lowest income or tax bracket, you pay no tax. Once you move out of the lowest bracket and into the next one, you have crossed the threshold from paying no tax to paying at least the lowest rate of tax."

Check the ATO site for more info.

    Hello Mary S,
+1 for John's ATO income tax calculator. You can also call the ATO for further info.
    Hope this helps!
