If a person got raped and a baby got convinced by the persons ex's partner (no longer together). Currently DHS are involved because they have concerns about the father but not the mother One of the assessment's for the father is the outcome of the criminal case. The mother first didn't want to have anything to do with her child but she changes her mind and currently have access visits. If the mother has a relationship with her child or is seeking custody. There is a current criminal investigation of the father in regards to the r**e.

My question is Would the mother changing her mind and wanting to have involvement with her child and possible regarding custody affect the investigation outcome?

Or Is the investigation and DHS two different matters and the mother's involvement with her child possible regaining custody have no affect on the current r**e investigation even tho it's part of the father's assessment?

Mother got sexual assaulted by ex partner as a result a child was conceived. Currently DHS are involved the mother has changed her mind and has started having access visits with child and possible wanting her child in her care. Currently there is a criminal investigation in regards to the sexual assault of the father to the ex partner. Part of DHS assessment with the father is the outcome of the criminal investigation.

Questions:

Would the mother's involvement/changing her mind in having a relationship with her child and possible wanting her child back will that have any impact interference or jeopardize any charges made on the ex partner at all if found guilty or in the evidence that the mother gives to the police?

Is the criminal investigation and DHS two separate investigations even tho it play a huge part of DHS assesment / best interest of the child?
