NSW Cyber-bullying, legal and non legal responses and effectiveness

Put up a few points and we'll comment. First thing to do is identify the laws around cyberbullying. There is more than one law tackling cyberbullying, look at both NSW and Cth laws.
Then consider whether the remedies under these laws are adequate from an abstract viewpoint and the victims. IE should the perpetrator pay for counselling the victim requires as a result of the bullying. Think about how age factors in to this. Does a 10 year old really know they are bullying another child? Bullying has always been a fact of life for some children. Being able to get away from a bully in the past solved many issues, but when the bully is in the victim's online space while the victim is home, there is no/limited ability to get away from the bully making their presence seem overwhelming. Should penalties be harsher for this pernicious ever present harassment?
