A family member of mine was arrested six days ago on breach of AVO and weapons charge. They've been held for six days at a place that doesn't usually hold inmates that long. We are a long way from where they are, yet the people in charge claim that no phone calls in or out are allowed. That doesn't sound right since they said in person visits are allowed.
Under Criminal Law, should my family be allowed to talk to our family member over the phone if we can't get there in person?
Also, they have not had a court date yet, which is why I'm confused about them not letting calls in or out.
