So I signed a contract to hire put a soccer hall for our wedding in November and paid the full amount the same day. Fast forward to yesterday, we meet up with the hiree so we could look at the hall quickly before our wedding this Saturday, wWhen she turns around says, "we have a new president and she has said there is a new contract that she wants you to sign".
I read it and on the new one, it says we have to pay more. So I refused to pay it and said I've already filled one out, signed it and sent it back to you. She then proceeded to say that someone had an event in January and refused to sign the new contact along with pay the new amount and the new president came down to the hall kicked everyone out and shut the event.
I have the emails she sent me and the filled out form I sent back. The only thing I'm stressing about is in the signature part. I typed my first name middle initial and last name (before I did this I asked her if she would accept that and she said yes) all in the emails.
Do I still have a leg to stand on under Contract Law or will I now have to pen sign the new contract and pay more money which we do not have. Otherwise, we loose out on the hall and the money we have already paid.
Thank you.
