If we were to hire out a hall that has a bar and serves alcohol, under Australian Consumer Law, can the people hiring out the hall say no to having kids can come to the event? Also, can they say it even though it wasn't written on the contract we filled out?

    It's a wedding, so not like it's a big 18th or something.

Whose alcohol license is being used (e.g. Hall owner)?

What are the conditions of the license?

Does the contract mention anything about complying with license conditions, if so do you have those conditions?

Yes, I assume the hall owner.

This is all it says on the contract about the alcohol side of things.

    2. All alcohol must be purchased from Soccer club and consumed on hall premises. Further to the above condition:-

    (i) Proof of age must be provided on request.
(ii) Consumption of alcohol brought to the hall is strictly prohibited by everyone and will result in forfeiture of bond and termination of hall hire.
(iii) Alcohol consumption is not allowed in the surrounding verandah, car park or grass areas
(iiii) A condition of hall hire for 21st birthday functions and similar events at the hirer’s discretion will be the registration of the event with Victoria Police under “Party Safe” or similar programme – the hiree to provide confirmation of registration with Police.
