An undertaking is unlikely to affect your gun license as you do not have a court order and are therefore not a prohibited person - though check with the police.

Is it the same for police officers and custodial officers? Can they keep their job, as it involves guns?

I haven't looking into it but suspect it is different as they likely have different licensing requirements and do not store guns at home.
