My husband is about to recieve a lump sum from his superannuation due to a permanent disability. Will child support come out of this? His 16yr old son was living with us at the time of the claim. He moved in with his mum 2 months ago after living with us for 2 years.

Hi Dearna,
Not all superannuation lump sum payments are counted as income and therefore he may have exception from means testing for child support purposes. Have a talk to the super fund and see if this applies to your husbands payout.
