Hello,

I recently bought an apartment in Victoria (Melbourne) that consists of 9 apartments, all with individual parking on title. The problem is that if the car directly next parks you cannot open your door, there is not enough space. If all owners parked in there alloted spot the cars simply cannot fit. What is a possible fix to this? Have buildings in the past re-measured or changed the layout of the parking... as legally a functional car space has been purchased?

Unfortunately you have no rights. And this is not a unique scenario. Happens too regularly.

As a buyer you had the opportunity to inspect the property and inspect the title and the ability to not purchase the property.

It may be possible to re-subdivide however that option is not cheap or quick when dealing with 9 owners.
