i am Australian and made a personal loan to a fellow Australian whilst they were living and working in the UK. They have recently returned to Australia but still owe me £9,000 and have stopped making any repayments. As we are both Australian (although I reside in the UK), am I able to pursue them for recovery of the debt through the Australian court system? They have no assets left in the UK but do have some in Australia.
