Hi.
I reside in Scotland, and there's this guy from Western Australia who basically harasses me online, pretty much non stop. I know his real name.
He started doing this in 2017, after he recognised me on a forum. Ever since then, he has signed up... I really don't know how many accounts, but this has occurred on multiple sites in a highly abusive manner.
He is extremely creepy and bothersome. Over and over again, he posts idiotic things on forums, or he tries to impersonate my primary user name, which is not this one on here. He particularly does this on unmoderated message boards, such as a depression related forum I was posting on.
I first came across this guy way back in 2004. We were members of a lot of gaming forums. I usually post on forums about survival horror games. Well, he happened to be pestering me anonymously on Wikipedia and some forums in 2017, after I seen that he had been making an enquiry on the IMDb support forum about a short film I was in, with a similar ID to his X profile. I found his X profile much later on, however.
Because it's quite hard to use proxies, he left an IP address on a Wikipedia page once, from a New Zealand network called Spark. After he left photos on a forum just prior to that, plus that IP address, I found his Twitter profile after remembering this Australian guy from the previous decade. He had a photo of the same dog on Twitter, upon doing some investigating, so he said "Sherlock". But over time, he inadvertently left other clues too.
So essentially, he has been trolling me on tons of different forums, YouTube, Wikipedia, Fandom, IMDb, Internet Archive, PS4 or Miniclip live streams, and so on and so forth. He even obsessively edited all the same wiki pages I contributed to in the past, so he could be tagged to each article. Even if I edited them as a guest, he soon returned upon being notified, and deliberately tampered about with them to be irritating. And I suspect he was also sending emails to filmmakers I met, due to myself being a movie extra in my hometown. I just had a vibe he was doing that, because of previous vandalism of my credits.
I would like to point out, I have never met this guy. All the engagement with this weirdo has been online, and that's it. But he said vile things about my late mother. He has uploaded dozens of bizarre YouTube videos on some channel he has, pretending I'm a detective, while wearing gloves, putting in dumb music, and making potato related references.
Unfortunately, I did call the WA police a few years ago. Then they said they didn't have the jurisdiction to do anything about him, as I'm in the UK. But hasn't he violated some cyber law by doing this nonsense so frequently?
Contacting the hosting providers of most of these websites isn't very simple. A lot of them use Cloudflare to mask their details, but if you email Cloudflare, they aren't really all that helpful. It's the same with most of the moderators on certain forums.
Is there any advice you can provide? As you can imagine, it's so stressful having to put up with this man's stalking and harassment.
