NSW Possible miss use my TAX number

my accountant bought to my attention that my ex used my tfn for a period in 2017.
This also affected my taxable income. Instead of receiving $3000 refund I now owe $4000!!!
I’m also paying more child support in incorrect amount.

I emailed her employer to adv this and he asked for her tfn number , I adv he needs to chase her up for this and in meantime I requested he contact ato to fix this up. He did not reply.

I rang ato. Reported. Been chasing this up last 2 months. However come to stand still yesterday. After hour on phone to ato. No one knows where this is up too. !!!! And states case is closed. And I still owe ato $4000 and my income is substainally higher than it should be.

I was promised phone call back from ato But heard nothing.

I logged onto my tax through my gov and shows she is still using my Tfn this year.

Please any advice how to stop this please ‘n

I'd be telling the ex if it doesn't stop asap I'd be reporting it to the police as fraud.

I did that. She called me a dumb f wit for not telling her employer her Tfn. I said breach of privacy.
She is still using it. And told her I will report it.

You were right not to disclose your ex's TFN. Divulging or communicating another person's TFN to a third party is an offence under the Taxation Administration Act, punishable by fines of up to $21,000 and 2 years imprisonment.

This situation sounds like a breach of the Privacy Act under Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015. You should immediately make a complaint to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner who looks after privacy complaints - www.oaic.gov.au.
