Does anyone know any NSW statutory provision is about non-fatal strangulation offence?

I read s 37 repeatly wondering if it is fatal?

No.

As far as effect on victim is concerned, only need to cause the other person to go unconscious, insensible or incapable of resistance. Causing any one of these effects means you are likely to be committing the offence.
