I am a student. I wanted to buy some weed, so. I asked this guy and he got me a some. It turns out he was a school worker. I owed him money and he said I can pay him back in sexual acts. I told the school and now the police are involved. They want to see my messages on my phone.

What should I do? Will I need to go to court and testify against him? And will I get into trouble?

Thanks

What this person is accused of is most serious.

Yes, you should give the police access to your phone.
Understand this - if you delete messages, or otherwise try to hide stuff,
then you will be committing offences yourself, and a sex offender will probably walk.
So, co-operate.

Yes, you'll probably have to go to court.
If you refuse to go, or if you lie, or pretend to forget stuff when you get there,
then you can be committing offences yourself.
So, turn up, and tell the truth when you get there.

Yes, your parents will find out. Tell 'em yourself.
In reality, your parents will flip (that's your own stupid fault),
but the cops won't care about a foil or two,
if it means they can get a sex offender before the courts.

You seem to be under 18. You need advice and support from a sensible adult.
Talk to the cops about that.

I've told my parents. I just don't want to have to go to court and people find out about this.

Oh you'll be going to court alright.
If you're lucky though, because you are a minor, there will be a non-publication order to conceal your name.

In trouble for what?
For the dope? Don't have enough to tell, but it's less likely.
In any event, you no longer have that choice.
