Can anyone offer up explanation as to how long a new car and its parts should perform effectively?
I purchased a new car in 2010, thus I am not covered by ACL, however I understand I still have some right to expect my car to perform or last for a certain amount of time.
In the last 2 months the locking mechanism on one door has failed so the door will only open intermittently; on another door the window mechanism failed and the window would not close......at seven years old, is this a reasonable situation or can I go back to the retailer with a valid claim.
Thanking you in advance

New cars have warranties for a reason. Beyond that date, nothing is guaranteed. How long something should last is difficult to tell, particularly when there are a myriad of events that can happen to it over time which will affect its longevity. I don't think you have a claim.
