Asking on behalf of a friend.

Ex has initiated mediation.
She is waiting on Legal Aid and has informed his lawyer/mediator that she is willing to attend mediation but can't afford it.
They have now informed her that he will be getting a certificate for court stating she hasn't attended mediation that will go in his favor all within less then a week to organise anything and that the matter will now go straight to court.
They would know legal aid takes up to 10 days to be accepted.
Is she not within her rights to wait for legal aid to help with the mediation before they can dismiss her and take her to court.
She is a single mum to their child and also has a new born and the legal fees just for mediation are beyond crazy.
Any help please.

Tell her to ask for an adjournment at the first mention if she doesn’t have Legal Aid before then.

Mediation through Relationships Australia (or similar) is very cheap (like $30 an hour) or free if they have a concession card.

She can’t stop him from filing an application with the court, though.
