I bought a used car for $15990.00.
Contract was signed on 09032018 but possession not taken until 14032018 as it was under repairs for faults picked up by both dealer and my mechanic.
Now exactly 3 months to the day my car is having the same problem that was supposed to be fixed brfore possession.
The dealer is 100km's away.
Does my warranty start from contract date or possession date as it was under repair.
I believe consumer law allows 1day extension to statuatory warranty for each day under repair, is this correct?

The repairs for the defect fixed before you obtained possession of the car are essentially covered for life, or at least for much longer than the actual warranty.

It is just new defects where the warranty is of concern. It sounds to me like poor repairs, rather than an issue with the car. At a minimum the repairs (they are considered a service for the purposes of ACL) have a 2 year statutory warranty.
