Settlement Money from Ex-Husband

At property settlement time, I let my ex-husband have extra monies on the proviso that he said he had a pre-approved loan. Now he can't get a loan. Where do I stand? I can't afford to pay my lawyer any more money.

Which State or Territory are you in?

Did you lend the money to your ex-husband thinking that he had a pre-approved loan and would be able to pay you off? If so, what were the terms of lending this money to your ex husband? Did you specify when you needed the money back by? Was there interest to be paid on the loan?

Is the reason why you cannot afford to pay your lawyer due to the loan? If your ex-husband repaid you the amount, you'd be able to pay your lawyer due fees?
