NSW Property Settlement with Ex - Wait Until Deceased Estate is Finalised?

Hi all, I have a Property Settlement in place that required my ex-husband to pay 3 instalments over a 3 year period. The last payment was due in August 2015. He passed away in April 2015. In accordance with the Property Settlement, his Deceased Estate is now required to pay the instalment. Am I required to wait until the Deceased Estate is finalised, or should the pre-existing Property Settlement take precedence? Also, would it be prudent to request interest on the late payment? (there's nothing in the Property Settlement concerning this). Thank You!
