Hi

I have a tax debt with the ATO and now living in the UK. The tax letter was sent to an old address and I never received the letter to dispute it, and now the time has lapsed and I have been issued with the debt and interest.

Is there any way to contest this due to not receiving the original mail?

Thanks

It is generally your responsibility to ensure that your details with the ATO are up to date. Therefore I don't think you would be able to claim ignorance to the debt and accrual of interest.
