If husband and wife want a divorce but will be living together as a family for the kids' sake, everything will be the same, just the parents will no longer be in a relationship and legally married, what needs to be done to let the government know about this?

I know that a divorce has to happen, but what papers, forms need to happen to let the government know about the children's care. The parents will be doing everything the way they have always done, cost, care, education, health, etc.

So will forms, child care payments, etc., still need to be done or can the parents put it in a parenting plan?
