Hi there. i broke up with my partner and we had a mortgage on both our names. He kept the house and I am planning to leave the country. The mortgage is still on both names and as i don't want to make him any problems, we are only planning to sign financial agreement and the mortgage will stay on both names... My question is, can I still apply for mortgage in another country (planning to go to New Zeland) if this mortgage here will be holding my name??? Thanks.

This will most likely depend on the laws of the country in question. Normally, there is no transfer of information so the banks in foreign countries would not know about your obligations in Australia. However, they may ask you to disclose this as part of their internal policies.
