I was married on November 24, 2007 and our separation was on June 03, 2008. We were married for 27 weeks. We have not spoken to each other since September 2008, do I need to apply for a divorce ?

If you haven't divorced yet, you are still legally married, so yes, you will have to apply for a divorce. This can be done as a sole application or with the agreement of the other party. Sole applications must still be served on the other party, but you don't need their consent for the divorce to be granted.
