VIC Magistrates Court - New Offences at Hearing?

Hi All,

In Victoria Magistrates Court, appearing regarding driving offences, can the prosecutor mention new charges against the defendant? Got charge sheet, on bail but have not received the brief.

It's possible to have new charges on the day but if you are surprised you would be entitled to an adjournment.

Quick aside, I just joined the forum and have a half-screen black banner taking up the top of the webpage - it runs ads sometimes. Is this normal? It sure makes viewing the webpage hard! (I've tried a few different browsers)
