Because in order to do business under a name other than your legal name you are required to register a business name.
I think you'll find that abbreviations, acronyms and derivative terms
(even if not separately registered, let alone not separately trademarked)
are not usually a problem.

If you are incorporated then you must display your company name or registered business name in all public correspondence inc social media.
