My friend had someone living in the backyard at her house for some time. She knew him from a stint in Cairns and when he came down to Brisbane, with no accommodation, she let him set up out the back.
He had a tent, plenty of camping equipment, TV set (used 240 volt off the house) and near new mattress, etc, etc.
While we were having a few days on the Gold Coast, he packed up a small amount of personal stuff and drove off back to Cairns. The bulk of his belongings from the tent onwards are still there. He owes her money for the electricity bill.
She's made it clear he won't be welcomed back. How long can she store all his abandoned property before disposing of it under the Abandoned Goods Act?
