Getting a divorce 2 years after permanent residency

Hi,
would my permanent residency get affected if I file for a divorce? I got my permanent residency late 2015, through a partner visa application (801).

Hi,
If you have already been granted permanent residency I don't believe it will be affected by Divorce. That said if you are filing for divorce and you claim that you separated whilst applying for permanent residency, noting you need to prove 12 months separation to apply, then that might be a problem. I say this because you would have been required to notify immigration of any changes in your situation.

We moved apart 4 months after I was granted permanent residency, so I think I will be ok. I moved to Sydney to study basically.

I do not have to notify them after i get the divorce, do I?
