I was recently involved in a very minor car accident were the other car was left with a very minor scratch. I want to know was the other driver or car insurance company required to provide me with a quote prior to any repairs being carried out, because all I was sent was an invoice for almost $1500 which i deem very excessive.

Have a look at these similar LawAnswers questions 'Car Insurance - Quote after Car Accident' and 'Car Accident. Insurer now making unbelievable claims.'. Did you respond to them that you deem the invoice excessive and would like them to get another quote? I don't think there's too much you can do if the insurance company accepted the quote.
