De Facto Separation - What is Future Income?

I am hoping someone may know the answer. I have broken up with my de facto partner, before the date of the breakup, my mother passed away, and I am aware i will receive a small inheritance, it is still far from settled, and the amounts are not known or official yet.

I would like to know if my ex partner would be able to have any claim against this inheritance, as I believe it may be classed as future income if he brings a property settlement claim?
