If I'm in a defacto relationship ,and my partner initiates a family court settlement case for her previous marriage, and she loses the case, but she is broke and cannot afford to pay the other sides costs. Can I be liable to have to pay them?

That 'loan' is very unlikely to matter, I'm assuming there is no legally binding contract with that loan? So you have given her some $ in the hope she gives it back..
