NSW Custody of Children - Become Sole Carer for Son?

Hi, I am currently in need of some help in the right direction towards becoming sole carer of my almost 2 year old son under family law.

The court generally thinks it in the best interest of the child to be in contact with both their parents. Where is the father and why do you believe sole custody is the best option here?
