I currently have an Australian Private Company limited by shares with an advertising & events agency operating under it. We’ve just launched another business (1 of 6 more planned) and I’m wondering if I should set-up each business as it’s own company? Or should I keep things simple and have them all trading under the one company (registering business names or ABNs where applicable).

How many businesses can we have trading under one company and are there any risks to this model?

How many? As many as you want.

The issue to think of is what happens if one business goes bad, and you have losses or get sued. That will affect the other businesses as you can’t quarantine losses into one part of the company.
