Hi. Can you tell me how to appeal a court judgement if it is in the circuit court and I want it to go to the family court for the appeal to be heard?

Thanks.

Hi @collen
So you want to appeal a judgment made in relation to a family law case?
On what basis/for what reason are you seeking to appeal?

You can file a Notice of Appeal within 28 days following your hearing. There is a fee for doing this.

For an appeal to be successful, you must convince the Family Court that the single judge of the Federal Circuit Court made an error.

The Appeal Procedures - Single Judge brochure from the Family Court is a useful document that explains the process in full, but as always, please make sure you seek legal advice, as well.
