QLD Appeal Absolute Disqualification of Drivers Licence?

In 2009, I was sentenced to 30 months jail and had my drivers licence disqualified absolute. I appealed the severity of the sentence and I won. It was reduced to 18 months with parole at 6 months. Unfortunately, my Legal rep. forgot to mention the disqualification length of my licence.

At the time, it wasn't as important as an earlier release, so we went ahead with the appeal anyway! Now it's been 7 years without driving and it's really becoming a big problem, especially with my new job. I've been trying to work out how to apply for the removal of disqualification but because it was heard in the district court and connected with my appeal, I have no idea what to do.

Can anyone help?

I know that prior 2002 you can apply to have your absolute disqualification removed. You may still be able to do so, check out this website: if it doesn't answer all your questions, call the transport and motoring consumer service centre.
