I've came into country as permanent resident approx. 3 years and 3 months ago. I'll be eligible for Citizenship next year. However, last month, I had excessive speeding, got 6 months suspension and 6 points. This is my first offence.

Will this effect my citizenship application ?

Instead of applying for citizenship, if I opt to just remain on permanent residency, would this effect my Resident Return Visa?

Thank you for your time.

Cheers

Hi Craig,
Any offence recorded against you can be taken into consideration, but its less likely to impact you than if you were sentenced to prison. If you keep your driving record clean for the next 12 months it will show that you made a mistake over a year ago and shouldn't impact you. To be honest its not likely to impact you anyway.

Thanks Lance. May be I should wait at least a year after my suspension is over, just to be safe.
