Hi there.

I have a neighbour who has placed numerous signs in her front yard telling passing traffic that my dog makes "blood curdling crying" noises day and night. Funnily we have never heard this alleged noise. We are both animals lovers and would take action immediately if we thought our dog was in any distress.

Her signs identify our home address and encourage people to complain to the RSPCA and make derogatory comments about us being irresponsible, etc. We have tried to discuss this with her which resulted in another sign telling everyone people from our address are not to enter her land

Anything we can do to stop her shenanigans? She is a serial complainant.

She sounds like a real charmer!

Have you talked to the police about this issue? I'm not sure if it constitutes a crime or not - it might be nuisance or a similar misdemeanour - but it would be worthwhile finding out if they can do anything to intervene before looking at civil avenues.

Stand in the public street, in the daytime,
and openly and noticeably take photographs of the signs.
Do not under and circumstances enter their land.
Do this continually over several days or even a couple of weeks

When (eventually) asked "What are you doing?", reply "collecting evidence".

Thanks, Have spoken to police and they aren't interested. Neither are council. Patience seems to be the only answer.

Thanks. Did similar, she asked what we were doing at which I replied taking pics for the solicitor. Her response was "Sue Me" then she put up more.

Cheers

You may have a case for defamation. Suggesting you are cruel to animals might be sufficient.

If you are still bothered enough, have a solicitor write her a letter telling her to remove the signs asap else you will sure her.
