Hi,

I've recently bought a second hand 2008 Subaru Liberty with 200,000 km's on it. I've had the car for 2 weeks and there is a noise in the engine which I have been advised is a throwback bearing, requiring the clutch to be effectively replaced.

I bought the car from a dealer who has said they are not legally obliged to cover repairs as the car is not under 10 years old and under 160,000km's, and the third party warranty I was given does not cover it. Am I entitled to anything here under Australian Consumer Law or must I cover the cost?
